28mm Bren Carriers in a Desert Stylee

Brens Ahoy !

Got round to finishing off a section of 3 Bren Carriers and crews for my early war (1940/41) Desert Army, these are for my South African Battalion.

The detail on these Perry Figs is just great and an absolute joy to paint, so much so I finished another 3 today, which is nice.

I have included links to my vehicle and figure tutorials on the post, for the period if they are useful for anyone.

Thanks for looking,

Regards Ken

Very nice indeed! My own painting skills can't match your Caunter type colour scheme - and anyway I wanted my carriers for Tunisia any Italy, where many photos show vehicles simply painted in standard WD dark green. I just made them very dusty  :D
I note too that you had some frustration with the amount of mould-release material used by Blitzkreig, making it very hard to get paint to adhere. After asking here and elsewhere, I have ended up rubbing my Blitzkreig vehicles in white spirit, then washing them in soapy water, rinse, undercoat with an enamel primer, then an acrylic base coat. Seems like quite a faff when Warlord resins will take acrylic primer sprays straight from the box. But the Blitzkreig vehicles are very nicely done...

Cheers EC,

I normally soak them overnight in soapy water before giving them a good scrub. I then use a spray primer? I'll try the white spirit on the next vehicle I do.
