Looking for Ronin European warband rules
« on: 13 January 2016, 10:52:29 PM »
I remember seeing some place that folks made a European list of Ronin, or at least where looking into making one.
I am just looking to see if it was ever completed.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Well En Garde comes out in a few days. Looking forward to that one myself and that might provide the rules you want, as to my understanding is the ronin engine modified and updated to cover Renaissance fights.  :D

Yep, En Garde is out (or should be) and features 8 lists from the Renaissance – Landsknechts, The Three Musketeers, The Cardinal's Guard, Conquistadors, Aztecs, Border Reivers, English Civil War, Swashbucklers and Ottoman. But it also features an open points system that allows players to design profiles for any region or period that they want.

So I am sure that you can tweak what is there to come up with what you need.

I hope that you enjoy the rules.

regards

CW

For anyone who now has En Garde, how do you interpret Light, Medium and Heavy armor ?  Based on the example, I guess Light is buff coat.  So would Medium be a cuirass and Heavy would be 3/4 (or full half) armor?  What about mail vice plate?

Hi,

That is the distinction I have chosen. It works well.
