Are the books out yet? On the Website it says. Preorder.

You can buy the PDF now - the book will be available when Carl is finished sending out to the Kickstarters

Well I hope he doesn't take to much longer.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

They have the books in hand shipping should start soon.

I have to say I'm less excited about this now that I have played other fantasy skirmish games.

I personally play more Epic Heroes/Brink of Battle.. but that system is more complex and has a steep learning curve and requires more effort to take advantage of the warband design system.. Open Combat seems to be a good simple skirmish game and it has some very nice scenario ideas and excellent production quality level..

It depends of what you are looking for.. Despite playing Epic Heroes, I still joined Open Combat KS because there is no reason to have extra set of rules to use with other players, one can never have enough rules :)

To introduce new players ( like the OP ) it is an excellent system...

just my two cents.. not an absolute opinion by any means :)

cheers

@deaothar

She already does - got a cigarbox full of painted minis she plays with (My little Pony vs Orcs & Space Marines) great fun to listen to. And cheers for Reapers Bones series - she loves to pick ud a few when shes with me to the local hobbyshop :)

I'm sure the Little Ponys kick the marines butts...
