Top chum James asked me to help out with his demo at Partizan this year.

Well that was quick! I took a few pics but not sure I can beat Tom's splendid shots. Thanks to everyone who came and played and chatted. Very enjoyable show with great company. Given that I finished the fort yesterday morning I'm pretty pleased it all turned out ok.

Excellent photos.
Thanks for posting them.
A few questions if I may.
How many players in a game?
Also how long it take to play a game?
Which side won?

We've been playing a quick set of participation rules that take 30-40 minutes to play through the four days of combat from June 3rd-6th 1916. They are very simple but have cards to give the flavour of the actual events of the battle, eg use of flamethrowers, reinforced barricades, etc. We usually had two German players (controlling the forces in the east and west tunnels respectively) and one French, though we also played with just two at times. The French could win by holding off the Germans till June 7th (when Commandant Raynal surrendered due to lack of water); the Germans could win by breaking through to the main corridor by the barracks and forcing a surrender before June 7th.

I think we played about 7 games, and the Germans won half.

Fantastic work James. It's wonderful to see something different for the period.
Best wishes,

Rather annoyed that I couldn't make it down today (my lift down there fell through), here's hoping it is at the other Partizan.
