Zombies/Skeletons in WWI Gear?
« on: 07 November 2007, 11:29:14 AM »
I have this idea, that scientists/occultists would probably go to the war burial sites of WWI to raise som cannon fodder for WWWII.

Does anyone know of suitable minis for this (obscene) idea of mine?
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

I know that Westwind have separate head for zombies in their weird war 2 range. I t may be you could use their existing zombies as the ruski unifomr is similar to a WW1 one and even their germans could be good. Alternatively the heads could be used for other figure ranges

Now stop this as I have avoided the weird war stuff and you are suckering me in by default

Must admit I do like the idea of Wierd World War 1.  Would fit in nicely with the Gothic Horror stuff.
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

I'm working on some free Weird War 1 downloads for the Chaos in Carpathia rules. So far I have finished some linked scenarios based around some troops digging out a bombed-in dugout who delve a little too deep and uncover a long-imprisoned vampire.

I am working on some zombie scenarios also, but the main drawback has been the lack of WW1 zombie models. I was planning on lobbying Blue Moon to do up some, actually. We'll see if anythinf will come of it.

I also have some scenarios sketched out around a unit being sent to a village behind the lines to rest. Unknown to them, the village has a werewolf problem.

I like the way you think.

Could do.

But if they measure 29 mm from sole to eye in that 'squat' position, they're going to look a bit big...?

With some minor modifications, Brigade Games' Nazi spectres could work? I have a set and they're nice figures too.

I would certainly be happy to throw my money at some WWW1 miniatures.

I haven't seen this movie, but it is a WWW1 film by the looks of it:

And the film 'Sucker Punch' had a WWW1 section:

And there is the computer game "Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land" that is set in WW1 and would be excellent for some inspiration for miniatures:

I just found this figure - not sure what it is exactly (zombie or undead of some kind?)

Not zombies, but could be used as zombie hunters:
