Hesse-Kassel Cockades, American Revolution

Does anybody know what color the cockades were for Hessian officers and musketeers in the American Revolution?

The best I can turn up is the Perry brothers' article on the Hessians and Brunswick troops for the Saratoga Campaign, which indicates they all wore black cockades. Is that correct?
