OK, trying, but my photographic skills lag behind even my painting skills. :^(
My intention was to give them a look akin to both bullfrogs and leaopard frogs. Naturally, I painted the three frogs first, then chose what appeared to be the best option for full implementation.
Didn't realize it until I was half-done painting this guy, but he's got his lunch hanging over his back.
I hesitated about how to do the eyes, but in the end the full black, empty look won out over the yellow and black look that you see, for example on
Otherworld's website[/i].
The mushrooms are all lumpy and irregular, which seems to match my experience with mushrooms I see in the woods, here in central France. I went for the color scheme on the Amanita muscaria, although the forms is probably closer to Boletus edulis. I suppose that more experience and patience will be required to create acceptable mushroom species. <g>
