Who has...

So in this post I am looking for anyone who has designed scenarios to either introduce new players to frostgrave or just to spice things up for your group. I'm looking for more ideas!!!

Yesterday I was the host for a game to introduce a new player (Necromancer) with an existing player (Elementist). In our scenario I was in control of a "pure" Necromancer who had raised an army of undead soldiers and their mission was to kill the Necromancer and grab as much treasure before the game ended.
I secretly put 6 treasures out of the 9 that were on the battlefield that were marked 1-6 that had 'bonus' items in them. These bonus treasures were from the thaw of the lich lord treasure table and they were as follows; 1. Magic spectacles 2. Club of Battering 3. Horn of Hellfire 4. Quiver of the Soul Seeker 5. Ivory Scroll 6. Ring of Life

Now since these treasures were secretly placed even I as the GM didn't know where they were on the table, they were placed by a 4th person who wasn't playing but was watching the game progresses (hopefully we can rope him into building a warband and joining in the fun)

So the game went off without a hitch and many zombies, skeletons, and ghouls met their demise. The Elementist player ended up killing (my) Necromancer with an elemental bolt and rolling a '20' (Lucky bugger) and the new player made off with most of the secret treasure.
All in all it was a fun way to introduce a new player to the game while having an already existing player level up a bit closer towards my (summoner) who if I'm not mistaken is at level 15.

So all in all it was very much fun and I'd rather like to hear about similar experiences..

Until then happy gaming

Weez

I haven't fleshed it out yet, but I have been thinking about a mini campaign. I envision it as three scenarios. The wizards have heard tale of a vast magical repository that was recently discovered by another wizard. The wizard that discovered it had moved the find to a secret location, but met his demise on a further expedition into the frozen city. The wizards will have to try and track down clues to the where this repository was hidden. So the first scenario would play out pretty much like normal except for the following.

1. The players would roll to see what type of base the previous wizard had and then set up terrain to that theme. For example, if his base was an inn, then the terrain would be set up like a vast roadside inn with tables, stables, and several sleeping quarters.
2. After the game, at least one treasure that a player got off the table would include a clue to the possible whereabouts of the repository. There would also be a chance that each additional treasure would result in an additional clue if the player desired to try and roll for it. The clues would help/hinder the wizard in the next scenario. Examples:
These would be things like you find an old map. This old map allows you to place one extra treasure during the next scenario. This treasure can be placed within your deployment zone.
Or you found a list of the wizard's henchmen. During the next game, you may add one free treasure hunter to your warband. This treasure hunter was previously in the employ of the wizard and has agreed to help you locate the repository in exchange for a portion of the treasure.
Maybe your wizard found one of his magical summon demon scrolls with notes indicating  that he conversed with this demon to gain insight into where to hide this magical treasure. This would summon a minor demon at the start of the next game. However it is a trick and the demon will attack the wizard's warband at the start of the next scenario.

The second scenario would play out using traps. Something along the lines of an initiative role of four or less means that a random member of your warband has triggered a trap. Roll on the trap chart to determine what type of trap. This would represent the booby traps or magical wards that have been set up by the wizard along the route to his repository. The same clue bonuses could apply to this scenario.

The third scenario would be the actual repository location. There would be four treasures set up in the middle of the board and it would be guarded by maybe a troll or something. It would not activate until a warband member got within a 6 inch radius of the center of the board. The scenario would also use traps except that it would have each phase or turn a random spell occur to a random warband member. This would represent random wild magic of the alternate pocket dimension where the repository was hidden.

Everything is still very rough draft and mainly just bouncing ideas around, but what do you think?

I've had a crack at writing scenarios if they're of interest - http://frostgravery.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Scenarios
