Thanx gentlemen...;)

One Hour Wargames is definetly in my radar. Got the book a few weeks back and a good read in my vacation.
Fantastic scenarios...

Cheers,

This is a great idea well executed. Your 'wargaming the forum' idea is also brilliant. I am in awe of your inventiveness, it's very inspiring.

Very nice painting!  Just call it 1812 Reenactor Wars and you'll be nearly spot on for a 1:1 representation. We have two horses in our Light Dragoon unit ;)

Thank you, both....;)

I had to work late today, so I grabed my little 1812 project and took it to my office....:)

Did a small solo playtest with it. No real AAR, but just a few pics and impressions. Worked out pretty well....;)

So here is the situation. 60x60 mat (ex Games Workshop cut small). The small armies come from their side of the gaming field.
Goal was to knock a blow to the other side and controll the canadian church at the end of round 2. Its roumured that there are stocks of amunition and some muskets hidden nearby...

The rules are german "Kugelhagel" - hail of bullets. Kind off Blackpowder, but you activate unit by unit, while the activation is card driven. 7 and 8 give you one activation, 9 gives you two actions and a 10 gives you 3...You can play two cards on each unit per turn.
British troops had the red cards, americans got the black ones.

English troops got on the field...

But the us units got a lot of activations and shoot volley after volley in the english lines... :o

Cards are dealt pretty one sided... ;D

And the dice are very lucky for the americans.

The british battallion in the center has to fall back... shaken and exhausted.

At the end of round one I had to pack my things together cause its gotten pretty late...
Over all a fun litttle game. The small battallions worked out okay...and the playing field was at the right size.

So, all I have to do is to find an apropiate box and stuff all inside to get another "Battle in a Box" together....;)
