Out with the Old / In with the New - Pulp Alley

A new year has started so it must be time to add some new cards to the Phantom Agent list. And we have some really exciting free cards to share with our Phantom Agents in 2017! 

The 2016 cards will be available for a very short time, so get your battle report or review sent in ASAP. Next Monday, all the 2016 cards will be removed from the website and then we will try to have the 2017 cards added within a few more days.

One of the fun new card types we're adding to the Pulp Alley Phantom Agent list for 2017 are some Fortune effects that must be played as soon as the card is drawn.

When these cards are played, they add in some fairly minor effect that last for the rest of the scenario and can affect all players. Here's an example.....

  It does sound interesting, but it might make me feel cranky since you can't pick an optimal time to play it, and it's likely to help each side equally. Certainly if I was losing when I drew it I would curse under my breath slightly.

If they must be played immediately, when would the 'Challenge' halves get used?

When you draw for random challenges...
It would be terrible to waste the upper half of the card for a burst instead of drawing this at the start of a turn.

I am thinking we better get together for a game sooner than later.!

Remember, each card serves double duty. The top part is for Fortune effects and the bottom is for Challenges. The Challenge half is still used for random challenges, X values, and so on. Same as always. Only difference is that you won't ever play this challenge from your hand of cards.

After years of threatening to do it, Dad finally went crazy and created one challenge that requires 4 successes! 

It will be available to our 2017 Phantom Agents. Use at your own risk!!!

4 successes or 4 hits!!!!!  I don't think i have any character with any 4d as i try to balance out among all skills.

Some of our crew like to tool up on particular skills, so this will be quite a nice little surprise!

It makes the cards or associate skills that let you discard for a bonus slightly more valuable.

Don't worry! I think Dad only had 10 of those cards printed, so the chances of one popping up are ridiculously rare.   

Well let's see, Dad has been talking about making this card for the last 8 years. So at this rate, I'm guessing he will get to "11" in about 60 years.
