28mm Sassanid Elephant and light horse archers

Hi there, here you have 2 units of my (growing) Sassanid Army for Impetus and/or Hail Caesar...
The first is the Aventine metal Elephant, I am veeeeery pleased with the sculpt and the finished result ( it was painted partly with airbrush ). And the second unit is light cavalry ( not everyone can be a cataphract!) which I finished today.the riders are Gripping beast while the horses Aventine, I bought them from a member of this forum, Mad Doc Morris

Incredible! The overall painting is excellent but what strikes me are the faces and the elephant hide - stunning.



I agree with you, if I were to start collecting Sassinids, they would certainly be Aventine. I have a good mix of Aventine, Foundry, and Gripping Beast Huns. I am just thrilled with the Aventine sculpts.

Excellent painting.   I am ashamed to say my Aventine nellies are still in the pile, you are encouraging me to get started on them.   I did like the way you based the horse archers, they came up very well.
