I recently painted some Lone Rangers, Artizan and conversions, for a mate and he now wants a Tonto. Whats out there? In his words it needs to be fringed buckskins and a single feather as per the TV show. The feather is not a problem as that can be added but the rest? any help greatly appreciated.

Well, Im sorry I don't know anything but I would be very interested to have an idea for a tonto, too!

Black Scorpion's Apache I pack has a fellow who might work. The figure on the left, pointing the pistol. You can't really tell from the angle of the pictures, but he has fringe on his pants. You would probably want to remove that cloth, though. Not sure how easy that would be.

If you thinking of the original Tonto then looking for a mountain man in the right kind of get up might be the best approach.
Then you just need to do a head swap for an appropriate head.

Either that or a native in similar dress and add the fringing with GS.

In fact, looking at that picture above, any fella who has a similar face in trousers and a shirt would be a good start and just lengthen the shirt and add the other bits, fringing etc....

I agree Paul, I had a look through Nicks Texians earlier as I remembered some of those having fringing but nothing jumped out.

So chaps, what do we suggest for a body and then a donor head?

Pick a figure that looks almost right without fringing and I will add the tassles for you if that proves easier.
