Hereford1938 VBCW Spring Big Game 1st April 2017

The Hereford 1938 VBCW Campaign has been running for over four years now, and resulted in many memorable battles and characters. All of these have been described on JP's Blog at http://hereford1938.blogspot.co.uk/ or in various posts over time on this forum. The creators and organisers for the last four years of the Hereford 1938 VBCW Campaign (JP and Giles, members of this Forum) have now stepped back, and kindly allowed a "New Generation" crew to keep the flag flying. With their wealth of experience and extensive VBCW collections, JP and Giles hope to continue as player/characters rather than organisers.

So the new crew have created a new blog - http://hereford1938avbcwtng.blogspot.co.uk/ - to act as a continuation of JP's original and set up our usual "Spring" Big Game to take place on 1st April 2017 at Birley Gate Village Hall, Herefordshire. Full details of the Scenario (known as "The April Fool's Day Massacre" or "The County Cup") are on the new blog, together with details of the arrangements for the Big Game (such as times and how to get there!).

We already have many of the "old irregulars" coming along (some from far-flung parts of the country), plus one or two new to VBCW gamers, but there is always room for more! If you'd like to join us for a day's VBCW gaming in cheerful company, do drop me a PM here or on the new blog and let us know. You'd be very welcome.

It's not going to help my reputation as an inveterate nit-picker, but speaking as an Herefordian myself, shouldn't it be "Burley Gate" with a "U?" Don't want folks not finding the place for want of a U.

Hello All,

We've now got 16 players signed up to attend the Hereford1938 Big Game on 1st April 2017, including 3 new to VBCW players, so regrettably we have to "close the lists" otherwise it will upset all the scenario planning...If anybody sees this late and would like to come along to "play a cameo role" and/or observe and/or get to know our cheerful VBCW bunch, please let me know!

That looks great the upcoming Sealion campaign book has very much rekindled my intrest in VBCW, are there any big games planned this year?

Hello Jim,

Yes. That was our Spring Big Game and we usually have an Autumn Big Game, too. We're planning for around October of this year (we usually circulate a "Dates to Avoid" email a couple of months in advance to get a date that most people can do). It would be good to welcome you to the Hereford1938 AVBCW Group. I'll PM you.
