I've just edited my last post in order to be fair with the companies involved!  ;)

Ah, thanks Donald.

Thanks for the nice comments.
I wasn't fully sold on the thicker clear bases I tried first, but I like the thinner bases and feel I won't go back to standard basing.

Though, there are some downsides with clear bases. Some minis are an absolute pain in the neck to base. They are also unforgiving. With the clear bases, there's nothing that detracts from any weakness in the paint job.

Another two minis removed from the paint queue. I'll resume working on scenery for a while.

I think the Chappie in this picture looks like Lord Peter Flint! The Warlord from Warlord comics! Lovely paintwork on all! :-*

Ogdru-Jahad, by Carnevale. They sold the range and it's back for sale, but I forget who carries it now.

TT Combat has the range now.  Thanks.

I bought some Carnevale minis a while ago and didn't realise they were still available through TT Combat after the company went bust. That's good news as some of the minis are cool and TT combat offer them for a decent price (actually cheaper than I bought them). Though, unless they redid the moulds and these are new casts, I'm a bit worried the quality might be suboptimal. The last Carnevale minis I bought were poorly cast and require a lot of work to look half-decent.

The overpriced-ness of Carnevale was in part why I failed to buy them earlier. If they're cheaper now, I might well pick up some fish-folk, finally.
