I read a blog post recently about a problem with new members not receiving their confirmation e-mails:

These fellows tried to join back on 22 May - I see that the newest member listed signed on at 21 May.  Perhaps there is a clog in the registration system?

Hi,

I checked and validated the outstanding membership applications. The Prof is indeed away, and I got struck down last week, malady-wise, so: sorry for the delay.
