Russian Cossack Infantry Flags

Here's one I need assistance on.

I am having trouble finding flags for use for Russian (White) Cossack infantry units (not cavalry). Any suggestions?

The specific figures (unit) I need this for, are painted with a khaki (yellowish) coat, blue pants with yellow stripe down the outer seam, wearing a black (fur) hat with red top.

Any suggestions?

I'll be interested to see what Cuprum makes of this! I can't see why a unit with yellow trouser stripes would have red tops to their fur hats.

Do you want them for the East? Several Hosts wore yellow and TransBaikal seems the most useful if you are into BoB http://www.pygmywars.com/barendspages/steppehosts/transbaikalnotes/transbaikalnotes.html

If you want them for the West, then only the Astrakhan units were yellow.

I don't imagine any actual flags will have survived. Plastoon units were short lived and low prestige. But I can suggest some options from the types of flags they used.

Thanks. I think I'll go with the East then.

The figures were not painted by me, but a couple units I picked up already painted. I only added a standard bearer figure to them.

Banners foot battalions of the Transbaikal Cossack troops were given only once - in 1852. All of them received the banner of the same sample. Unfortunately, I do not know if these banners were used during the Civil War.

Forgot to ask. Did other units have different colors for the cross (instead of green), or did all of them carry the same flag with the green?
