Yep, I was very doubtful about Bones at first, but it's grown on me a lot over the last couple of years.  Best for big stuff perhaps, but even in the man-sized models there are some gems and the bargain prices and soft material make conversions and kitbashes a lot more feasible.

I still haven't been impressed with the human sized figures, but you are not the first person to tell me of there luck with those. But I bought the dragon hatchlings and practically had to resculpt the entire face on them, so I'm not exactly itching to buy more bones in small scale.

Too bad you didn't join us for Horisont.

Looks like you're a good painter having a blast!

Thank you! I thought about joining, but couldn't find the time this year. But I hope I'll be able to make it next year.

Undeniable that some Bones figs have issues with soft sculpting, and the bendiness can be a problem on slender parts.  The issues seem to be worst on the earlier (first KS) models, and have definitely dropped off with later models.  Rather looking forward to seeing the 3rd KS wave and whether the improvements continue.  There are certainly some very large impressive figs coming soon (think they were saying January for wave 3), many of which would be impractically expensive in other materials.  Even some Bones scenery coming, which seems like a very good subject for them to work on.

Sorry for not answering you guys earlier

Yes, the Bones Material has great potential. My friend and regular gaming buddy, Affun here on LAF, has bought some newer human sized bones figures, and the detail is great in them.

Thank you very much. I'll try updating it more frequently but taking pictures of every thing is a hassle for me, though I like sharing them.

Haha, yes. We kicked off the campaign some time ago here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=98932.0

I'll update it soon.

Speaking of that project. Here's a picture of some of my latest not song of ice and fire, but sort of, models:

I'm especially proud of the horse. It was my first time painting a non-chaos horse.

Lovely work, and the coloring on the horse is perfect.  Well done.

Going back to previous comments, I note that Reaper seems to have missed that January date for Bones 3 rather badly, although they were apparently finally doing fulfillment for it all last week (and probably into the next) if their email auto-responder was telling the truth.  So, maybe some impressive new figs on the store soon?  Hopefully?

Thank you! The only drawback is, that I couldn't match that level on the rider, so the horse greatly outshines him.

yeah, let's hope so. The one very big creature I have from them is very nice I think.

Some of these can now be viewed over on my painting log :)

I've already gushed about the horse a whole lot - Its just good. I really need to paint some cavalry for myself at some point as a counter :b Perhaps some mounted wights..
I dont think the rider brings the miniature down - Its a perfectly fine paintjob. Does what it needs to do, and compliments the horse pretty well.

I really enjoy the yellow/black colour-scheme combined with the gritty metals you're going for.  Its very effective. But again - Ive said that before.

I don't think it brings it down either, but I just think O reached a new level with the horse, that I somehow couldn't replicate on the rider, but maybe on the next knight.
Would love to see some undead cavalry - though I thought you wanted to be the good guys for once ;)

So, photobucket has blocked my pictures from being used on third party sites, I've tried a trick, I read here on laf, to restore the pictures, so let's see how long it'll last.

I'm now trying out other hosting possibilities, and have decided to give blogger a go. So without further ado; here's my blogger debut, or, a test at least. An old school orc, which was a joy to paint - I ordered a bunch of the old Nick Lund grenadier orcs after painting this one, since it was such a great fun.

Good work on that orc! Lovely old figure that shows the Perrys preempting Kev Adams in the helmet design.
