Allies invasion plans for the Channel Islands?

I have a long -standing interest in the German occupation of the Channel Islands and know that once the garrison was cut off from mainland France with the fall of St Malo it was starved into surrender, but was there contingency plans for an invasion in the event of a German refusal?  The reality would have ended in a high civilian casualty rate and leaving the islands to wither on the vine was the obvious choice, but it makes for a fascinating "what if" scenario.

Mountbatten was keen on the idea but in reality he was in the minority. HMG had declared the islands of no strategic importance in 1940 and not much changed that view. Try googling Operation Constellation. There were of course a number of commando raids which were for the most point, quite pointless.
