That's the one! Good price . I rate it and overall it covers more of the actions of the rearguard than anything else that I have seen so far.

That's good to know. I'll have to get hold of that. My Grandfather was part of the rearguard at Dunkirk so it's a subject that interests me and is a factor often overlooked in films and programmes on the subject (there are a number of good books that look at the rraguard of course)

Off to Morrisons!

Wasn't it Monty's 3rd Division that formed the British part of the rearguard? Not forgetting the 30,000 French too that went in the bag, if I remember rightly
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

No mate mostly British 2nd Division and ad hoc formations. 3rd Div got away mostly in good order. It was Monty's  Div in France but in the closing stages he had to step up to take over II Corps I believe with Brig Anderson assuming command of the 3rd Div.

Having a discussion with a friend about movies featuring Dunkirk, obviosly awre of John Mill's Dunkirk and Atonement.
There seem to be two TV docudramas from 2004 Dunkirk, and Dunkirk a Soldiers Story, are these available on DVD as I have not seen these, or does anyone here have copies they can loan or sell me?
Also I have a vague recollection of a film featuring Sean Connery as part of a reargaurd group as well as other related stories inc a French RAF base sending up one plane to defend the beaches. Am I dreaming/confused this or can someone name this for me.
Thanks

Simon, glad to have you back. And since you're posting again, what about paying me for the miniatures I sent you in 2015?

And what about the minis winterspy bought from you and never received?

He was in the Oxford and Bucks light infantry. Hed been in the Territorials before the war, was only in France a few weeks before ending up  fighting alongside the 2nd Glosers at Cassel. Ended up getting captured and spending the rest of the war as a POW in Poland. As chance would have it the airfield they flew him back to as part of Operation Exodus was RAF Westcott. About a mile or so from his house. So he walked home! A nice end to the story the neighbours 12 year old daughter had turned into an attractive 17 year old by the time he got back and they ended up getting married!
