The new characters for the Outlanders setting....
« on: September 28, 2017, 05:08:03 PM »
The Outlanders setting will be seeing regular releases over the coming months, with a major expansion of one of the existing factions already in the pipeline along with the first vehicles for the setting almost ready to go to the caster.

This is all part of an overhaul of the range which will be taking place at the same time, helping to organise it better in preparation for some significant changes next year.

The Third Element campaign saw the beginning of this process and featured six new Characters.
This restructuring will see all of the figures in the range becoming part of either Faction sets or Character/Expansion Packs.
These new characters will be joining the existing Character range to take those Packs up to three miniatures each to fit in with this new system.

...

The Customs Detail.

The Customs Detail is the first of the new Packs that will be coming into existence should this campaign be successful.

This new Pack comprises of the original 'Customs Officer' Pack, which will now be joined by the Customs Security Officer as it's Third Element, to create the new three-miniature set..

 .

The new 'Customs Detail' Pack will feature all three of the above figures and should hopefully prove at least as popular as the original two-miniature version.

I know that I, for one, am looking forward to painting the new member of the group in his Landfall Customs uniform of burnt orange.

...

The Bounty Hunters

The Bounty Hunters is the second of the new Packs that will be coming into existence should this campaign be successful.

This new Pack comprises of the two miniatures from the original 'Bounty Hunter' Pack, who will now be joined by the new, smaller Bounty Hunter as it's Third Element, to create the new three-miniature set..

The new 'Bounty Hunters' Pack will feature all three of the above figures and hopefully the new recruit proves a popular addition to the original two-miniature version of the Pack.

I like to think of them as BH and Son. Keeping it in the family, the Bounty Hunter way....

;-)

...

Joe, Kaero and BOB2

The third of the new three-Packs that will, hopefully, be entering the Character range is Joe, Kaero and BOB2.

This new Pack consists of the two miniatures from the original 'Joe and Kaero' Pack, who will now be joined by the new 'Busted Bot' as it's Third Element, to create the new three-miniature set..

.

BOB2 is a highly modified Sensor-Bot that Joe has made into a seriously efficient analysis and repair droid despite its rather ramshackle appearance.

.

The new 'Joe, Kaero and BOB2' Pack will feature all three of the above figures and hopefully the new recruit will prove a popular addition to the group and add even more variety to the Pack.

...

Priest and Acolytes

The next instalment in this series features two miniatures this time around, in the form of the pair of Novice Priests.

This new Pack will consist of  the original 'Priest' miniature from the earlier version who will now be joined by the two Novices from this campaign to create a new three-miniature set titled 'Priest and Acolytes'...

.

They would also make an great group of civilians in a variety of settings.

The Cyber Hound that accompanied the Priest in the original Pack will be found a new home in another Pack. More on him later.

...

Mayor and Mayoress

The last instalment in this series featuring the new miniatures from the start of the campaign is the Mayoress.

She may well have a couple of options regarding her use as the original miniature comes with a separate bouquet of flowers, making her an excellent non-combatant (it has been suggested that she make a great opera singer!). There is also the option that she can be used in her alternate role as the Mayor's bodyguard should the weapon option become available..

Both options are shown below:

This new 'Mayor and Mayoress' Pack will consist of the original 'Mayor' and 'Mechanical Bird' miniatures from the earlier version. who will now be joined by the Mayoress from this campaign to create a three-miniature set,.

They also work well in a variety of other settings if you use your imagination. Personally, I shall, eventually, be using versions of some or all of this Pack in the Gangster, Pulp, Old West and Superhero genres in the future

...

The Manhunter.

The next instalment in this series features a Pack that will be affected by the impending changes being made to the range, although it will not be receiving any of the new miniatures. This is the new 'Manhunter' Pack

The contents of this newly configured Pack consist of the two figures that previously made up the Pack known as the Noif Herder. They will be joined by the Cyber Hound that had previously accompanied the Priest.

So, the new 'Manhunter' Pack will contain the three miniatures pictured above once the changeover takes place. The name change comes about by the fact that he is a more than capable catcher of men and often works as a bounty hunter, accompanied by a pair of modified armoured Hounds, specialising in bringing in his targets 'alive'.

Thank you.
Indeed it is a stun prod, although some have modified these to a bit of range to the charge.
They work similarly to a (very powerful!) taser. They were originally designed to control Bull Noif, after all.
 ;)

It is actually a separately cast weapon, so he can hold an alternative if preferred.

The last Kickstarter was the best, great figures with character! Hope for some robots fitting in this range. Dune-steam-like, I hope.
