ESR Et Sans Resultat basing for 25mm

I'm trying to figure out the best approach to ESR using 25mm figures. I currently have them organized into battalions of around 24 figures, 4 to a 30x40mm base. Cavalry is 2 to a 40x40 base with 10-16 models per regiment and artillery 1 gun on a 40x50.

Would you advise 50yds to the inch and sticking with the above models per unit? Is that about right or way off?

I googled around a bit but couldn't find much on recommended approaches for 25mm - any ideas appreciated.
