[Project] Waterloo army (tester horse)
« on: December 10, 2017, 01:43:42 PM »
Hello all, as I said in a previous post I am recreating D'erlons core in 28mm. As my family kindly bought me my 1st cavalry division from Warlord games I thought I'd start with the 7th Hussars, I am doing 1 box at a time, and with three squadrons 12 figures each, 36 horses and riders fun fun fun!!

Anyway I did a tester horse, however in the bed roll my son and I tried to do a 7, but it just didn't work but shouldn't matter anyway.

Looks good to me. I’m not very good at painting black horses.

Shading on the horse looks good. For the sheepskin can I suggest just paint it white and shade it with a dark wash - I use army painter dark shade. It's easy, brings out the highlights and looks good when the rider is on.
If this works, here's an example

I never bother with the number on the roll, it's too hard to see anyway.
