Village raiding in Darkest Africa
« on: 28 January 2018, 10:37:29 AM »
I played my second round TMWWBK league game at the club on Friday, using the Herero Tribesmen against Alan's "Explorers" (or"Slavers", depending on your perspective).

Yet another example of me snatching defeat  from the jaws of victory (or at least a draw). For a full account and more photos see the blog. http://tringwargames.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/africa-with-men-who-would-be-kings.html

That is a fun looking game! What mfgr are the figs? I like the home made huts as well, nicely done sir. I'm a die hard TSATF player since the mid 80's but am looking forward to trying these rules soon. I've recently played a game that a friend ran using the Congo rules at a con last year. It's a good set but not what I'm looking for. I'd rather use TSIA, it's the Darkest Africa set in the main TSATF rules book.
Cheers,
Sgt Guinness

All my Herero are by Tiger Miniatures http://www.tigerminiatures.co.uk/ The rest are mostly Foundry, with a few odds from other manufacturers mixed in.

I'd certainly recommend giving the rules a go, they are great fun and really flexible. Using them at the skirmish level does give quite a different game to using the standard size units. I've had great success using them for 19th century Africa, 1912-13 Balkans Wars and 1920s pulp games.
