Crete Demo Game at Cannon
« on: 02 April 2018, 08:42:46 PM »
Last weekend chum James invited me to help him and Mike put on a Crete demo game.

Much fun was had and James won an award.

Lots of eye candy here:

It will be at Partizan in May.

James *may* be taking a version to the re-aranged Hammerhead at the end of the month, but that's not certain.

I think he has other plans for the second Partizan...

Love the set up.
Always have wanted to play a Crete game.
Thanks for sharing your's.
With a big game, how did you like CoC?
Any command rule changes?
Thanks for your reply.

I’m probably coming to Crisis but not sure with which game yet! Need to confer with the group.

Thanks! Chain of Command worked just fine; we were basically playing two platoons versus one, so not a half he game, but it took most of the day to play through it.

No command rules changes, just a few scenario special rules.

A few years ago we stayed in Maleme. I sat on the "new" Tavronitis Bridge with a small bottle of ouzo imagining those days in May. We went to the German cemetery on the hill and were among the few non-German visitors. The sea was deep blue, and the sky unbroken blue. To see so many gravestones with a single date on them was tragic. 20-05-41. Please visit.

Couldn’t agree more; it was a trip to the same place that inspired the game. I picked up a handful of sand from Hill 107 and used some of that on terrain for the game.

Partizan on May 20th will see the 77th anniversary of the battle, so that’s a definite.  It won’t be at Hammerhead though I’m afraid.

If it's WWII, sign me up for a demo game ;)
