Figure game based on a snapshot of a boardgame situation
« on: April 23, 2018, 06:36:18 PM »
I have been playing 2nd Bull Run from the boardgame Clash of Giants - ACW by GMT.

That threw up a small action that I am taking to the tabletop, the interest being that I am going to give Black Powder a go on a small table with a small Order-of-Battle.

I have put up a blog post that covers the converstion process. Part 2 will be an AAR.

Your idea and preparations made very interesting reading. Can't wait to see the AAR.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Very interesting!

A good strategic boardgame often has me thinking about warning the decisive actions (Almost like using the old GW mighty Empires game as a Warhammer campaign system) this weekend I played Liberty or Death (also by GOT, a COIN game) and after two years of small actions  it all came down to a single large pitched battle in Massachusetts where French and patriot troops destroyed a British army at the onset of Winter. That and the French blockades pushed public opinion decisively toward open rebellion and the war was won.

GMT make some great Games!
