Western Desert Force 'Scot Column'
« on: October 13, 2018, 03:07:54 AM »
Well at least my humble version thereof. I thought it was time I contributed something to this forum again so for those interested please find a few links to my updated Unlucky General blog. I've just finished my 2 pounder ATG portees (everything is 20mm) for my Rapid Fire wargames. This Scot Column has been a ten year side-line to give my Italians someone to fight the desert for.

Anyone interested can see using the 'Commonwealth' label on my blog that this little battle-group consists of a fully motorised infantry battalion supported by a three tanks, three armoured cars, two ATGs and a battery of two 25pdr howitzers with observation team. It's been fun and instructive to research and build this mob. I hope to play with them over Christmas.

Thanks gents. Yep, I never was genuinely tempted into 28mm WWII. I see the attraction but 20mm does me just fine and I'm far too committed anyway - or should be.

Looking good there!

Quick question, seeing as you have done the research....

Was there any actual Scottish units in the 'Scot Columns'

Cheers

I thought they were named after Lieutenant Colonel John Campbell, or 'Scot' Campbell as he was known?
