Star Wars figures in 15 mm?
« on: 12 August 2019, 02:17:49 AM »
While perusing an online catalog for completely unrelated figures, I found a post about some 'sub-rosa' Star Wars 15 mm (or not star wars) figures and a little more digging found some others that have been produced in the past.

Sci-fi isn't my thing, really, but I am a fan of the original three Star Wars movies - completely skipped over the next three though have found some of the newer Disney variations tolerable - and am giving some consideration to a suitable force of 15 mm Star Wars figures if they are available.

Of course, I understand there may be some significant issues with whether such figures are 'legitimate' - as in properly licensed.  So, if anyone knows of 15 mm Star Wars figures that DON'T violate intellectual property rights, I'd be pleased to hear about them.

Thanks.

Don't know of any that are licensed.  I know of two ranges that probably weren't
licensed because they were withdrawn from sale.

Check out my Flickr account for some ideas by clicking on the globe.  You can also search for 15mm MOs Eisley as well on this forum for some more of my games in 15mm.

If you willing to do a little work, you can create some pretty convincing 15mm SW figures

There is a famous American producer whi has stormtroopers. His company is named after an Iranian province. Then there was highlander who had some very close homages to key characters of the movies. And don’t forget the old Micro Machines series, which could either be repainted or like Gunnar has shown used to modify other models.

Nice to see someone who won't casually support the violation of someone else's IP.  May I suggest Ground Zero Games' ORC infantry?  Painted in an appropriate scheme they are fine Stormtrooper/Clone Trooper proxies with a nice range of weapons and sculpts.  Painted examples on my blog, although I didn't quite go whole hog on the Star Wars colors or the weapons would have been dead black.

Oh, and Brigade has a 15mm (and 6mm) terrain range that works nicely for Mos Eisley style layouts.  Images at the links - afraid I haven't got any saved.
