We had our TtS! tournament on Saturday so I rapidly got the army into a near-finished state. There's still a little snagging to do (basing, adding some shields and quivers to the elephant crew) but it's mostly done, for now. Later I need to paint (or rather ask someone to paint!) five hundred more longbowmen and spearmen and a few more elephants, and base up a load more chariots and cavalry. I want it to be around 10' or 12' wide so I can do the Hydaspes.

I'll take proper photos when everything is complete.

I think you need to raise the bar Simon.  You've done stunningly awesome for too long now and it just doesn't have the same impact any more.

Runs for cover.   lol

Seriously, that's spectacular work as always and I especilly like the statue.  Some of those trees spread around the table would look great, like the Hydaspes scene in the Alexander movie.

...it's funny you should say that, I was thinking the same. I have a lot of bamboo left over, and a load of jungle terrain that I bought in a wargames car boot back in '04 (I knew it would eventually come in useful) so there's every chance that will happen.

Here are a couple of photos of the Cheesy Indians in action against chum Howard Litton's Polybian Romans- Howard very kindly sent me the photos.

There are rather more on my blog below.

These elephants will have an outing at the London GT in just under two weeks time- then I'll have no fewer than 34 elephants on the table.

Very nice armies!  It makes me want to do 28mm Indians.  My first ever wargames army was Minifigs 15mm Ancient Indians.   :D

Thanks- some were hand painted by Dan Toone and I painted more to match. They are based on an ancient Indian design.

Brilliant looking game and armies. I agree the wobbly edges bases do blend better on these large bases. I've been experimenting with making them into Skirmisher sabots as the wobbliness makes them stand out.
Excellent elephants always impress.
