Future Wars Questions
« on: 27 July 2009, 01:09:57 AM »
I usually use the "Skank" rules for my zombie, pulp, & post apocalyptic miniature gaming. I'm currently looking over Combat Zone and might give that a try after the reading.

My question is this... Is Future Wars a physical set of rules out there somewhere or is it just a concept?

There is actually a set of sci-fi skirmish rules by Chris Peers called "Future Wars"; I suspect the name is taken from this, but other than that, there doesn't seem to be much to do with those specific rules here (or anyplace else, for that matter, that I'm aware of.) Could be wrong, of course.

This forum is about the concept, so anything near future or SF goes in here including stuff like Dr. Who or Warhammer 40k. I don't know the "Future Wars" rules by Chris Peers and I believe they're no longer available through Copplestone Castings. For Future Wars games we usually use Combat Zone though we've also tried some variants of Gorkamorka, Necromunda and 40k. We also tried Babylon's Burning but we found it was a bit too detailed.

The Future Wars rules were originally written by Chris Peers to go with the Copplestone line. It is one of the sets that we have bought and it is still in print. I have not had the chance to thoroughly read them yet, but if you had any questions I could do some digging in the files.
