a repainted heroclix 'the beast' model.

I've been experimenting with camera and lighting settings. There is a slight shine, most noticeable on the shins, which isn't on the original mini, otherwise not sure yet.

just noticed the reflection is quite bad on forehead and his right cheek too. Makes it look like one eye is lower than the other.

excuses, excuses  ;)

My only comment would be to make your dark lines thinner as they do look a little exaggerated. I notice this most on your HP lovecraft. Again this is only opinion, everyone's style is different, but just realised what it is that I wasn't too sure on with your other minis.

Camera fiddliling for minis is an artform in itself, so good luck with that mate.

Good work!

Good luck with the cam settings....it can quickly become very annoying fiddling with those settings.  :)

Thanks Chaps!

commander vyper, i'm working on it, the mad scientist's Igor i'm currently painting is being done with no black lining at all,

it's difficult, but seeing them so large on the forum really gives me the incentive to really work at getting better,

Nice paint work, but I just hate that version of the Beast. The only good think  about Claremont's work on X-Men Forever is that we get to see the "real" Beast again.

Ahh, well. Nice painting all the same!

Good man, any hints tips or pointers give us a shout. I tend to add very fine blacklining these days with either inks or thinned paint, gives a much more controlled finish than using a black undercoat.

Looking forward to seeing your next figure, maybe a quick update of HP? (His face looks very black in places?).

Thanks for taking these comments in the spirit in which they were offered, recently there's been too many thin skins for my liking.

commander,

no worries, one of my goals in posting is to get honest criticism, and seeing them so large shows up anything i have done wrong.

next up i'm working on a westwind 'igor', a four armed gorilla as one of the mad doctors experiments and some deep ones from black cat.

once those are done i'm going to revisit my HPL and improve the areas i didn't like.
then i'll re-post him.

regards

jim
