I decided to have a look at Mortal Gods and try painting something different.  I'm still waiting on a larger order to get started but I'd grabbed a few models I thought were cool and had a few on hand that suited the setting.  I'm also looking at building some suitable terrain for the tabletop

Thanks!  I had some help from Setting the Scene Vol 2.  It deals with 2nd World War and Napoleonic scenery in Southern Italy specifically but between the suggestions and ancients pictures online I was able to adapt it to this project.  Even after thousands of years some things remain the same.
