Atheling, thanks. To be honest I have never bought from Black Tree myself. The message traffic on this website has been enough to put me off  , and there are other manufacturers out there who produce excellent products and offer great service!

Yes, I guess they might be made available again after COVID,  Can't quite remember why they were pulled.   A shame as I would have loved to seen the range expanded.

On BTD, I ordered a batch once from their range of Kevin Adams-sculpted Orcs (ex-Heartbreaker, I think) and the package was delivered pretty quickly.   However, I just think that was a lucky strike and based on the consistently negative feedback would never do so again.  Where we are talking about people making substantial orders and never receiving them or if they do, after many months of delay and chasers, I just don't think a "lucky strike" on the off-chance is any basis for parting with my hard-earned cash.

I would be interested in getting a couple of thanatus models ( as in, enough for a small warband ). Does anyone know who owns the right of selling & casting them atm?

This is a bit of a guess but as far as I know, North Star retired the range temporarily as they didn't have the staff to continue casting all of their ranges due to Covid restrictions.

It might well be worth firing an email to Nick and asking  ???

Gripping Beast does a range of Saxon/ Germanic figs advertised as suitable for 6th & 7th centuries. A little early but may fit the bill. They even do a Penda figure.

https://store.warlordgames.com/collections/saxons  Not sure if either Saxon line will cover the period for you but Warlord Games carries the Saxon Miniatures range. Similar to some of the older Gripping Beast(same sculpter), I like them as general purpose troops. However not as dynamic or detailed as Footsore
