Thanks for the tip about OTP Carlos - not a maker I was aware of, so one of the bonuses of starting this thread  :) If I can find a UK distributor I will be after an early StuG for eastern front use ...
TBH I am not one of those who thinks 1/48 tanks look better with 28mm minis - not the Perry sized 28mm minis I use anyway. I can see that might be a different story with the 'heroic' scale ranges.
To me 1/48 vehicles are the natural way to go if you're interested in tapping the military modelling and diorama market. You can charge quite a bit more in that market too ... I can see that they're also the way to go for wargaming Arab-Israeli and Vietnam stuff because of the very large ranges available.
enjoy your erudite postings on these boards BTW Carlos,
EC

Cheers, glad to help! I’m scale agnostic myself. Whatever looks good with minis or, often as not, what is available.

I’ve always wondered why nobody has produced 28mm figures for the various Arab-Israeli wars. I suppose, it’s because they are generally viewed as armour-centric and better suited to smaller scales.

Like others have mentioned already my opinion is that Rubicon has the nicest vehicle kits out there. They're simplified enough that they build up quickly while still producing a nice miniature for the table. I've bought some of the Warlord/Italeri kits too, and I did not find them to be as nice. More cleaning required and an overall less pleasant model to build and paint.

For me the best detailed and true 1/56 scale tanks can be found at.

https://www.trenchworx.com/

Unfortunately only a small range.

Sorry not sure if there is a UK stockist for Trenchworx, shoot them an email.

The vehicles they supply are spot on for scale, very detailed and all the casts I have received have been perfect...

Warlord sell a few Trenchworx in UK but not full range, they are great kits, simple accurate and easy to assemble
