Roman Roads from Early War Miniatures

I just received some Roman roads from Early War Miniatures today.  They are very nice latex roads.  These are their 15mm offering.  One of my favorite battle is the Battle of Bouvines 1214.  The village of Bouvines still has the old Roman road there which ran through the middle of the battlefield.  The block pattern of these match the real road in Bouvines about perfectly.  I'm going to order a set of their 28mm roads as well.  They took a little time to arrive, but I will blame most of that on Covid as the website says about 28 days or so to ship from order date.  They are worth it if you are looking for some flexible Roman roads.  Just wanted to give a shout out to them as I had not heard of the company before searching for 15mm Roman roads on the internet.

I think that they are actually called cobblestone roads on the website and not Roman roads....sorry about that.
Rick, I too have searched for a while for the look that I wanted, and these are as close as I could ask for on the pattern used in this area.  The Roman roads seem to have quite a variety of patterns in total.

This is a photo of the road at Bouvines if my research is correct.

Several folks make different suggestions, the thread goes a bit off track but then recovers. I have looked into Novus, Fat Frank, Gale Force 9 and Deep Cut. After discussing it with my wife, and showing her your photo, EWM is now in the lead.

I bought EWM cobblestone roads for my WW2 games and they are excellent, I had never linked them to being ‘Roman’ roads until your thread.

It does change quite a bit as it passes from Bouvines to Tournai.  I have looked at quite a few photos and the section that I shared the photo from is supposedly the area leaving the village.  I too read that it is quite a bike route these days.  The road as it leaves Bouvines doesn't appear to be used much if at all for modern traffic.

My wife really prefers the stonework in the image of the Via Appia but we have yet to find a set of 28mm roads with that style of cobblestones that will work for us. The EWM is something of a compromise for us, it lacks the visual charm of the Via Appia but is a least more characterful than say the Gale Force 9 cobblestone roads.

Fantastic stuff, thank you for sharing!  As a person who does not speak French, it can be painstaking to try and do a little research on the matter.  Do you have a photo of the road as it leaves Bouvines?  It intersected the battlefield and is the road that Otto's army came down as it deployed.
