(COMMERCIAL) Wiley Games H&M V2 now available in the UK
« on: 21 July 2021, 12:17:46 PM »
Good news is that the Wiley Games Horse and Musket rules V2 have landed in the UK! They're an excellent set of rules for fun and cinematic games in the Black Powder period.

Pre-orders will be sent out this afternoon and normal orders will start to ship from Monday.
The full set (rules, cards and counters) is also available as well.

Very interesting... I do have some questions;

Is this a standalone product or do I need a “basic rules book” to play?

Being a skirmish game, I presume each figures are based individually, right?

What would be the maximum figures require, per side, still having an enjoyable game?

Cheers!  8)

According to the designer: In most games, each player can control up to 5-6 miniatures without much trouble. Games can have up to 8 players without slowing down the game.

I don't have the game so can't answer any other questions.

Being a skirmish game, I presume each figures are based individually, right? Yes, but we played with bases of miniatures. All how you want to model your skirmish.

What would be the maximum figures require, per side, still having an enjoyable game? 5-8. As stated we generally play with 6-8 players, but 1 v1 games are great too,

Although there is a Core rulebook, which is genre agnostic, the supplements are generally stand alone in terms of the rules.

Individually based figures.

You're fine to go with 5 or 6 figures per player, but we might have 2-3 players per side. If it's 1 vs 1 then with henchmen/rabble (3 d8 figures = 1 d10 figure, basically put) then you can comfortably field 9 or 10.
