RACM's 5 Parsecs from Home: Turn 0 (10/10/21 crew painted)
« on: 25 September 2021, 02:02:13 AM »
I recently picked up a copy of the Solo campaign game Five Parsecs From Home. I rolled up a random crew and then using the randomized Backgrounds, Classes, and Motives wrote up their back story and how they all met. I plan to document each campaign turn on here and on my blog (in more detail). He is a link to the first entry on my blog: https://wyndehurstproductions.blogspot.com/2021/09/5-parsecs-from-home-campaign-turn-0.html

I decided to order minis from Reaper that fit my 6 starting characters. I'll use them in other games like Stargrave later on.
Here is the starting crew using the stock photos off of Reaper's site while I wait on them to arrive.

Finished painting my first crew.

Ana Maria, the leader. Human Scientist.

Z-Bot "Red". A security Bot Ana reprogramed when she fled the Research Outpost.

Morva Frayne. A Hakshan technician that Ana rescued from the Research Outpost.

Otetiani. A K'Erin starship crew member that was also trapped at the Research Outpost.

Lain. Human wasteland nomad that Ana hired for extra muscle.

Helena Merckx. The human ex-bureaucrat gone rouge. Also hired for extra firepower.

Great work! I love the non human elements to the group. Breaks up what would have been a too typical "Firefly" redux into so much more. However your, Jayne, in the unpainted picture reminded me more of one of Ming's (or other baddie fill in the blank) 1930s to 1960s serial underling (just had that feel of some repurposed sandals and sand helmet prop). In the group shot when painted made me think more of a skate boarder gone bad. The close up give me the Jayne vibe. The characters' background adds to the cool factor.

thank you very much. I really wanted to capture that sci-fy feeling with addition of aliens. I have a bunch more that need to be painted up.
