Mdf Airships.
« on: 01 November 2021, 09:36:10 PM »
Whilst trying to get the hang of my new phone. I found myself musing over an alternative  method of building a Fictional airship as I've just finished a commission for another copy/ version of my Royal Navy Reconnaissance Airship.( copy no.4 ::))
It's a chimera of a plastic 'Hindenburg' Zeppelin kit a couple of Biro's, Florists wire, Balsa, and greenstuff.

I came across  these new Sarrisa mdf kits.
Plus the Cog of War frames on Etsy which is roughly 5cm shorter than the Sarrisa kit and near £30 cheaper.
Both of these kits and  my own musing are in the 32cm-38cm length range.Hense including a pick of mine as gives you a better sense of scale.
Whilst I understand and appreciate the design choices on the Sarrisa Air frame I'm not particularly sold on the engines and gondolas. They very much feel like an after thought.
Without knowing the weight of the kit.Theres not much I can say about the included flight stand other than it feel very clumsy and some what obstructive.

Can anyone think of any other kits that are similar in size to these? (Discounting the massive Pulp Airship interior. )
