ROLLED down to the mailbox in the lobby of my old folks apartment building yesterday, and , in addition to the adverts and bills, there was a small box from CANADA! my new toys had arived after a 10 day transit from the FROZEN NORTH to NORTHERN VIRGINIA! as soon as i got back inside my apartment, i opened the box and then the blister packs containing GLORIA, HAMMER, EL ROJO, and GLORIA!
GLORIA, HIRED GUN. well this beauty is a deffo have to have for MILLA JOVOVITCH fans (like me). no flash, very pretty lead, very detailed, and action posed with a BA pistol clutched in each fist, mowing down bad nasties. very ALICE, late security officer of the UMBRELLA CORPORATION's RACCOON CITY site. i re mounted her on a round 25mm slotta base (to match my others figures), and then used a combo of epoxy ribbon/superglue to attach both arms to the torso. this was a bit fiddly, especially with my stiff hands, but if a man wants a MILLA JOVAVITCH lead in his dark future collection, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do! GLORIA is a tall slender babe, but looks like a taller woman would among normal sized women. she is wearing T-top, tight pants and knee boots on her feet .a gunbelt, riding low around her waist, supports a pair of skeletal holsters, one strapped down to each thigh. this woman is going to be one of ole DAWGIES favorites and i am looking forward to painting her up asap! GLORIA is deffo a babe with " quiet attitude" who will fill the slot of hired gun, solo wanderer, or avenging death demon of the WASTELANDS.
HAMMER, BIKER. this is an exceptionally nice looking figure, lots of detail, no flash, cast in a static standing pose with fireman''s axe in one hand and a cutdown riot gun in the other.
looks just like VAN ZANDT, the YANK dragon killer, from REIGN OF FIRE! I REALLY LIKE THIS GUY! i am going to add a BA flap holstered pistol from the WZ plastic TRENCHERS line to his right hip to give him bit more firepower. HAMMER's leather vest pockets and pants cargo pockets are bulging with "stuff". he is wearing biker boots or what i would call tanker boots with quick open/close fasteners on the outsides of the boots. HAMMER is deffo going to be assigned to a PC/leader of WASTE LANDERS, solo wanderer, or hired gun slot available to who ever has the right cash at the right time. i still have plans on buying the INFINITY version of this guy, but that has been moved back from the immdiate future toa more distant date.
EL ROJO, MERC. EL ROJO (THE RED) is another big man among WASTELANDERS. about the same height but more muscular with buzz cut hair. under his right arm is a "claymore bag"(presumably full of pre-loaded AK mags), around his waist is a pistol belt with mag pouches for a BA pistol, as well as other pouches on it, but for some reason, no holstered pistol or sheathed knife. he is armed with an AK and has thoughtfully duct taped a pair of mags together so that when the loaded one is "dry", he just takes it out, turns the bottom facing mag up and reloads with minimal fuss/bother. EL ROJO is wearing a sleevless T-shirt, military style pants with bulging cargo pockets and combat boots. again i think i am going to add a holstered BA pistol to his left hip to bolster his firepower. EL ROJO wears a bandanna over his face, covering it from just below the eyes down. to me EL ROJO is a gun for hire to whoever has the best offer.
GLORIA WITH UZIS. once again this miniature screams MILLA JOVOVITCH! she is wearing a tight fitting sleeveless jacket (this maybe the upper portion of a partially opened one piece tight fitting coverall) over a T-shirt, tight pants (maybe the lower portion of a tight fitting one piece coverall), and has knee boots on her feet. a low ride gunbelt supports a pair of skeletal holsters strapped to each thigh, GLORIA is wlaking forward, arms extended in front of her but facing slightly to the left and right, with a 9mm UZI SMG clenched firmly in each fist. obviously this woman is about to kick some serious ass with those UZIs! for some reason her bunbelts do not have ammo pouches or a sheathed knife on it., but, hey, i can live with this! GLORIA W/UZIS is the same height and build as GLORIA, HIRED GUN. i can see the figure being used as PC/Leader type, a solo wanderer, hired gun, or avenging death demon of the WASTELANDS.
NONE of these leads is wearing any sort of body armor, but agai i can live with that. the facial and hair detailing is amazing on three of the four (EL ROJO is wearing a mask so all that can be seen of his face is the eyes, forehead and buzzcut). compared to BRONZE AGE and SKID ROW minis, they are the same height. compared with COPPLESTONE, APHA FORGE, EM4, and RAL PARTHA they oerfectly represent taller individuals, not large mutants or ogre sized folks.
