Afghan Fort 20mm
« on: 31 March 2022, 01:53:17 PM »
After reading "Punitive Action in the Pushna Valley" by Donald Featherstone for the 37th time I was inspired to recreate the fort which is the target for the British.

The round tower is the pot from a chocolate mousse, the walls are mostly from a wooden orange crate salvaged from the local fruit market. Filler and toothpicks adorn the walls.

Very nice looking hill fort.  I'm sure you'll have many actions involving it.

Looking very good.

My roof method worked kinda well, mixed spackle, paint and static grass

Great looking fort.
Looks as if it came straight from the pages of Military Modelling or the early years of MiniWargs.

'Old school' is good and in 1/72nd scale is even better.

I gamed the action well over 50 years ago and we used The Don's method of simulating land mines. This was to cover the board in paper circles from hole punches and put a cross on a few. If you passed over a circle with a cross you diced for damage. Needless to say by the end of the game the floor of the room we were in looked like it had hosted a couple of weddings. My friend's mother (it was his house) was NOT impressed with wargaming!

Looks great George! Awesome use of standard household items to create a lovely wargames project.  I’d like to see your AAR and pictures of the game when you run this scenario.
