Painted: Reaper Ape Demon
« on: September 30, 2009, 09:05:37 PM »

While Isle of Dread has been put on hold by a trumpet\diary\school mix-up (don't ask), Mark Dixon has still produced this simian beauty for me. This guy will feature in a shrine to certain two-headed Prince deep in the jungle (apologies to Zeb Cook in advance from deviating from the script).

I've had him on my workbench. Not much bigger than a normal human sized mini.

I saw this model awhile back in a shop and scratched my head and laughed out loud when I saw the next blister next to it was a pack of hyenas!  I suppose we all have our "Queen of the Black Coast" moments now and then...

One of the reasons I did  not buy this model was I was unsure how it would look painted up, but with your fine example here, it will go on my future purchases list.

Ryan, I think we are going to be good friends :)  I was scrolling down to comment that I was thinking of doing a diorama with this and Conan! Actually two, this and one with the hyenas, but as slow as I finish stuff it would take forever I'm sure.

Great painting on this - only thing I'm not crazy about is sculpt related; the hands seem way too large.
