Hello From Virginia
« on: 13 June 2022, 03:09:47 PM »
Hi folks.  Been lurking for several months and felt the need to join.

I played some D&D back in the 70s, and fiddled around with ww2 miniatures and rules/tables on my old Commodore 64 (yes, I'm THAT old!).

Retired after 30+ years of working for the U.S. Navy (civil service) and have been taking it easy ever since.

Always had an interest but didn't do anything until last year when I started watching youtube videos of Pulp Alley and Bolt Action.  Got a few ww2 figures and the Bolt Action rules but then watched a couple of videos using the Ruthless rules and got hooked!  I downloaded the rules and bought 2 dozen figures, some buildings, etc.

But being a lone gamer I found the rules needed some tweaking, ended up making my own rules, taking what I could from various sources.

I love to watch the Pulp Alley videos, Dave is entertaining to say the least.  His rules and the Bolt Action rules were used to create my own rule set for gaming the wild west.  I haven't tried using them to game ww2 but I will soon.

My parents and their brothers/sisters practically all participated in WW2, my mom was a Welsh nurse (as was her sister), my dad was in the 9th USAAF stationed in England and France for a short while.  So WW2 is in my blood.

Anyway, looking forward to lurking and occasionally posting on the forums, mainly the wild west forum as of now.
