Thanks, checked my acetone but there's no mention of % that might be the issue as it isn't concentrated enough.

I put a car in biostrip on Friday morning and removed it this morning. I am very happy to report that it removed 100% of the paint :D

Definitely worth a try, and a discovery that's going to restart some of my paused car repaints.

Cool thanks! But wondering which paint they used on the Dinky Toys as it's quite hardy stuff. I can get biostrip although it's certainly not cheap in these parts

That I don't know, and it is a good question. I have a couple of other no-name toy cars to strip, so I'll get a better idea then of how useful it's going to be.

1L of Biostrip is approx £20 on Amazon - link. More expensive than Dettol, but well worth it to avoid the smell ;D

Thanks but looks unavailable, found a source but here it's roughly that price for 500ml ... so quite expensive

Would order from the UK but with Brexit there are hefty charges now.

Sorry about that. For some reason I thought you were in the UK - but I guess your username should have been a clue lol

I used to use cellulose thinners (for spray painting cars) which will dissolve plastics and is also a good airbrush cleaner of last resort if your seals will stand it. Dettol is much more user friendly though do not let it dry out!
However Dettol will not strip everything, some paint jobs seem resistant to it, so in to the cellulose thinners they go; so there is a place for both.
I still have some proper old fashioned paint stripper that I should use before it eats its way through the bottom of the tin but I am a bit wary of it, if you leave it you just get gunk.
