My New German Fleet
« on: 26 January 2023, 10:38:41 AM »
I bought some ships late last year from Brigade Models to use as a German Fleet for Castles in the Sky, Aeronef and Imperial Skies (the majority are listed as Uraguian except the carrier and aircraft which are from the French listing but I think they all look very Germanic). Finally managed to slap some paint on them last week and they had their maiden flight against the British in a game of Aeronef at the local club a few days ago. The game ended as a draw but a morale victory for the British as the German objective was not achieved due to time constraints.

Nice!  The color scheme looks great on those.

I also love your play mat.

Those new South American ships and the newer sculpts have looked amazing.

How do you like this color of green I'm sporting?

Why, yes, now that you ask, it IS of envy...

Haven't had fleets on table for the longest time, and, yes, own damn fault.

By all means use what ever you like. I had bought some ships from someone else, realized they had wrong pieces glued on, and decided they were Republic of Hawaii cobbled together from dismantled craft from an abandoned US repair base on the islands. Alt history, of course.

You've turned yours into a vary handsome force, I must say.

I am a bit confused about a couple of your opponent's units. mostly on the right side of the deployment area. Particularly, I'm wondering about the long, skinny thing and brown large ship ahead of it.

May just be that I've mostly old sculpts.

Thanks SO much for sharing!

Doug

Edit: Just wanted let all know Mick A graciously answered my question, but in a PM.

"I believe they are old Aeronef ships made by Wessex Games themselves back when Aeronef first came out. My opponent and myself used to play it quite a bit back then and we both have a few of the old Wessex ships."

Seen 'em in the old books, but never in person. Kewl!

Oh, wait, deeper shade of green...  ;)

Very cool indeed!

I did a dirigible themed German Fleet some time ago but they could use some reinforcements like these!!!

And now that I've dug out that link I realised that was the bets part of 20 years ago...  :o
