Late Medieval Irish Question
« on: 26 January 2024, 08:57:19 AM »
Good morning, I've been adding some Perry medieval Irish Kerns to my WoTR armies, and am thinking of expanding them over time to a force  for "Never Mind the Billhooks". I love the Perry figures, and I know Antediluvian Miniatures also produce a range of nice-looking Irish. Does anyone know if these compatible size-wise? Also, are there any other manufacturers out there and how compatible are they? I don't fancy the Flags of War figures as they are very expensive if beautiful! Googling has failed to locate any more than those named.

Thanks

Very compatible size wise but slightly out of period.

Andrew (Antediluvian Miniature) does make earlier and later Kerns/Gallowglass.

Perry Miniatures in their Wars of the Roses range have the most complete range of Irish and are most definitely Late Medieval. also, as far as size goes you can mix any Paul hicks sculpts (Antediluvian Miniatures) with Perry miniatures seamlessly.

I've made pretty heavy use of the Perry and Antediluvian Irish, and they're basically seamless, especially the newer Antediluvian range!

This is a group of 50/50 Perry to Antediluvian Kern with Javelins, mixing the older (slightly chunkier) Antediluvian Kern with the newer ones which match up almost exactly with the Perry ones:

I hope that helps!

I have a mix of gripping beast, old glory, anteluvian, Crusader, blacktree, footsore, perry and foundry in mine.

Cheers
