i was wondering if there was anyone who made cold war swiss troops in 28mm

Not that I know of. Bit niche for most tastes. Nobody makes Swedes either or Norwegians, Belgians Dutch, Danes, Spaniards or Italians.

Would be wonderful if someone produced even just the helmets and rifles for kit bashing purposes. A SIG 510 is all I need to make some Chileans and the helmet would allow for pre-war and wartime Argentines.

Quite right, I forgot those.

Not much in the way of Warsaw Pact either save for Russians and East Germans. No suitable French either.

I have made Spanish infantry by putting WW2 German heads on the Eureka Portuguese bodies. Not perfect but pretty close.

Yeah - we jump straight from Empress' Indochina guys (50s) to Eureka's FFL chaps (late 80s and on)

Yeah the selection is a bit thin. Looking at late Cold War alone you have the following.

Empress:

1970s/ early '80s Brits: Empress.

Soviet VDV

Underfire:

Early '1980s and late 1980s US Army (late versions can be used as USMC) Underfire. There are a couple of ranges aimed at Somalia that can be co-opted as late '80s figures with the removal of things like knee pads.

1970s/'80s Bundeswehr and Polizei

1980s Danes

1970s/'80s Soviets both in standard uniform and in KLMK camouflage suits.

Eureka:

1970s/'80s US Army in MOPP suits.

Soviets in NBC gear.

1980s Soviets for Afghanistan

1st Corps:

British Army in IS gear, SAS in patrolling kit plus CRW gear as well as slightly odd range of British Army wearing cap comforters.

Gripping Beast Mofo: Falklands Brits and Argentines.

Mongrel (sold through Badger Games in the US) have US Marines, '80s Brits, Various Soviet types as well as East German NVA

There are various other ranges that provide the occasional bits and pieces that can be used for the 1980s. Eureka's ZANLA guerillas with headswaps make highly useful generic baddies ( or goodies depending on your POV) useful for anything from Beirut through to Managua.

Some of the old Mongrel Syrians work well as Cubans and some can be proxied for Poles. Their Congo range can be raided for British Army in shirtsleeves and berets (I've used mine for 248 German Security Unit and RAF types) Similar things can be done with Eureka's Aden Brits.

There are one or two figures from Gringo 40's Vietnam range that can be used to supplement early 1980s US Army types. As they are they can make useable proxies for Grenada era Rangers and their some of their MACV SOG figures can be used as '80s era special forces. In similar vein I use the new Eureka USMC Force Recon along with the older range for the same purpose.
