This week on Jet Johnson:
(Jet Johnson & Co. are archetypal characters of Rattrap's FANTASTIC WORLDS game.)

Hydra's Ace Maguire as JET JOHNSON

A conglomeration of parts from various origins as JANNA HUNTER

Hydra's Cosmo as DOCTOR ILLA

To infinity and... no wait, that's someone else.

Splendid stuff. I like the nice contrast between the bright suits and the shiny silver - captures the spirit of the genre down to a tee.

i really like Janna Hunter, really sexy (in a blue sort of way lol) and a really nice conversion. Can you remember what the base parts were?

Cor! Jet Johnson to the rescue!
I really must stop looking at stuff like this, it causes all sorts of neurons to fire in my brain that then make me do rash things.

Lovely painting, very clean. Although if I could offer one suggestion - maybe make the silver smoother; at the minute it looks quite rough, which doesn't quite fit the image projected by the rest of the minis.

Smooth silvers - Still working on that, yeah.

Janna:
-The body is "The Invisible Woman" from Heroclix
-The head is from "Zora D'Arengo" by Reaper Miniatures.
-The right hand and pistol are from the "20th Century Weapons" pack by Reaper Miniatures.
-The left hand and sword were a leftover part from Hydra's "Ace Maguire".
-The belt, knees, elbows, and collar I sculpted on with putty.

I can only imagine your monthly miniatures expenditures if each of your completed minis requires parts from three other minis.   :)

Don't take offense though; I greatly admire conversions.

None taken, and thanks.
My local game store has heroclix singles for $0.75 in open bins, so that's not to big a deal.  I'd had parts left over from when I assembled my Hydra figures (Ace came with three arm sprues), and I always pick up lots and lots of bits and parts at Reapercon where I can browse the bins and buy by the ounce.

Great work as always, Froggy.

Love the figs, particularly Janna. She's just the type of companion the Crimson Corsair needs. Now, if only I could find an appropriate figure....

I'd already typed this in a PM, so why not share it?

Janna's body was "The Invisible Woman" from Heroclix.
bottom right:  http://img2.photographersdirect.com/img/12753/wm/pd1582256.jpg

The head was from Reaper's Marquisse Zora (be careful when cutting out the shoulders so as to not destroy either the collar or the hair - I make my first cut at the waist so I have a pair of spiky legs I can use in other conversions):

The right hand and pistol were from here (second from left):

All reaper bits are available as individual sprue if you don't want the whole figure or pack.

The left hand and sword were an extra arm that came with Ace McGuire.

Instructions:
1.  Remove the Clix head at the shoulders with a sharp knife.  Save it for a later conversion, as it is rather pretty.
2.  Remove the clix figure from it's ugly clicky base, please, for the love of all that is aesthetic.
3.  Compare the hand bits to the figure - remove the figure's hands and the hands' wrists where the figure and hand bits match up in width.
4.  Pin the hands to the wrists in the pose you want - Zap-a-gap can fill in irregularities or you can use putty.
5.  Cut the head off the Reaper figure - do this carefully so that you don't destroy the hair.  I made the first cut at the waist so I had legs I could use elsewhere.  I used nipper pliers, but a jeweler's saw might be more precise.  You want the head, the hair, and the neck to the bottom of the collar (though I removed the rings -she's a sidekick not a slave), and none of the shoulders or back.
6.  Trim the hair and back until they fit one another - I used an x-acto knife.  Once the head and neck fit on the shoulders where they actually should, glue them down.
7.  Using putty, add the belt, knee/elbow ribbed pads, and the collar.  I'm not a great sculptor, so I'll leave the How To to better-qualified people.
8.  LET THE PUTTY CURE BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE.  Really.  Learn from my mistakes here.
9.  Base, paint, destroy your enemies.
