I’ve heard from the eBay seller. They can send the product to any country whose postal system accepts it. That may be the reason for the UK not being listed as Royal Mail can be rather fussy about such things. Having added the item to my watch list I’ve been offered a 5% discount and told any excess postage will be refunded, assuming it is accepted by the postal service.

Many thanks for the replies, sorry for abandoning the thread: I'm flat hunting at the moment, and it's taking a lot of time and energy.

I'll have a look through the list; some of them won't be available in Germany. The Scotch repair glue should be possible, and to my surprise, Modgepodge can be bought online for a reasonable price. Obviously the UHU glue is easy to get here.

I've been using the "UHU and Superglue method described by @Silent Invader:

For paper, I tack together with a faint smear of UHU then when ‘grabbed’ apply a liberal dose of runny superglue, wiping off any excess CA with kitchen paper. I wear a mask and eye protection with good ventilation.

I find this works, but as you say, I'll need to improve ventilation.

I use Evo-Stik wood glue (but I guess any strong PVA or wood glue would do) for anything paper, wood, rock, foam, whatever. It sticks almost anything to anything, unless it has a completely smooth surface like metal or plasticard. I buy the big bottles and then decant into smaller bottles for the desk (empty hair dye bottles with the nozzle my wife throws in the bin!). I can then use it straight out of the nozzle or but a blob on my painting pallet, add a little water and use a brush to apply.
