3MM Sci-fi revival!
« on: October 27, 2024, 05:58:26 PM »
I'd completely forgotten to post here that I've managed to re-release the 3mm sci-fi miniatures I made many years ago. They are now produced by Brigade Models.

I've been painting like mad to create some new armies. I've gone for four factions The Executive, The Union, Freelancers and Mercenaries, with a different colour scheme for each.

The Executive force

and their mechs, some of these are repurposed 6mm miniatures from Brigade, but they work well as 3mm mechs.

The Freelancers (again with Brigade 6mm power suits as mechs)

The Mercenary Force, hoping to add more tracked vehicles to this force.

The Union Force

If they do well enough I'll make many many more :)
For now I'm getting them ready for some big battles

Those are very good. What rules would you recommend for 3mm scifi?

Good to see these again. The few I have painted up still look great after all these years :)

I like that a lot! 6mm was my entryway into miniatures gaming and I still love seeing micro armies.

Thanks all, I'm really pleased with how these have turned out.

Rules-wise I'm actually going to use these for Xenos Rampant in the first instance. Would love to get some
rules out there but I've learned never to promise when it comes to writing rules :)

But open to other rule suggestions if you have them.

Horizon Wars would work as well.

Ogre would work well too (with or without Ogres).

Dirtside II was my gateway into sci-fi battle gaming. I expect it would still do the job.

Cheers it's been a while since I injected some life into these, hoping to get some new stuff out as well.

Thanks all for the rule suggestions, I've played most of those. Some I like more than others.
I think at this scale what I'm finding is you can base two or three miniatures to a base and still just operate the rules as is.

For example the way I've based them means for say Dirtside your normal Tank unit of 3-4 tanks can be 3-4 bases with two tanks on each, which will give the game a big battle look.
