I’m glad you played a second game of the scenario. I’ve had people say a scenario sucked because it was one sided. But if they just played it again, they might get completely different results.
Of the multiple times we playtested this particular one, surprisingly the the smaller force won more times than not.

For the first game, the Marshal player decided to go with a 'shoot first' approach and paid the price very quickly.

For the second game, I took over the Marshal and went for a 'cover first' approach and the strategy paid dividends. The Thugs had to split up and got slowly taken out.

That's the magic of FFofL, it cannot be predicted!
I once had a squad of elite Fallshcirmjager wiped out by a motley bunch of Home Guard blokes. Only wounding one of the old duffers all fight. Dad's Army were commanded by a lady playing her first game!
Another time Tuco and hid kid brother, gleefully gunned down Marshal Twerpe, Dolores Trollope threw herself across his corpse. Drew the Marshal's six shooter, and dispatched both bandits with shots through the melon, in one move.
Only FFofL can do this!

A.  Good report, that last one.  The bit about replying it with a different result was spot on.

B.  "Scenarios That Suck" are really rare.  One-sided?  Yep!  But I'll play those in a heartbeat, and usually as the "weaker" side, just for the challenge.  And I agree with Harry.  The Fistful of Lead family of games is great, and very versatile!  As you can tell if you've read my various threads here, we play FFoL with a certain regularity....

CapnJim, Battles and Brews is next weekend the 19th and 30th. If you’re not headed to Historicon (where there’s quite few FfoL games) come on down. I have bourbon and a guest room!

I’m glad you played a second game of the scenario.

Most of these Western scenarios we replay afterwards in a Star Wars setting, usually with different results.

I was giving that invitation active consideration, until my wife reminded me that we have to go to a graduation party that weekend....thanks, but sorry, Jaye... :'(

Back after the summer break. Searching for the Fabled Treasure of Possum Gus, another scenario from 'For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead'. Also, gave me a chance to get my newly painted "Other Seven" figures on the table.

Back after another break - isn't it annoying when work gets in the way!  lol

We had a go at playing the Black River Blues scenario from For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead'.

A somewhat bloody affair with some questionable decisions made by myself.

Wow!  Marshal Bill's gang took they guy back, and they still hold their hostage?  That's a win, in any book!
