A Return to CENTAG
« on: 27 January 2025, 02:51:18 PM »
Yesterday myself and a mate played a game of PSC's NORTHAG, albeit as Russkies vs Yanks is was based on CENTAG. I had found a scenario via google with at 780 points of Russians vs 580 of Yanks. Rather strangely neither side had any artillery or airpower. My Yanks with their M60s took a beating but it was good to get them finally on the table.

A few observations. The rules are pretty good but you do need a big table even with 1/300. We used a 6 x 4' table and there was too little manoeuvre room. You do need artillery and/or airpower or it just turns into a slug-fest. Finally on a positive note the new-ish Heroics and Ros models are very nice ( see the M3 Bradley in the photo). I'm also showing my lucky dice roll.  Four 6s out of four dice rolled for a mortar strike. The only bright spot in an otherwise dire afternoon for the Americans

Thanks. We find NORTHAG a nice set of rules, but you do need a big table. My next Cold War game will be in 3mm using Cold War Commander.
